How Can Chiropractic Help?

Spennetta Chiropractic Care FAQs can be seen below to answer any of your questions. Chiropractors are specially trained in taking care nerve-related health problems associated with spinal misalignments. Also, the central part of the nervous system is housed within the cranial cavity and the spinal column. In addition, chiropractors are trained to locate areas along the spinal column where major nerve trunks may be affected or “pinched” by a misaligned spinal vertebra.

Once the problem is found, chiropractors know how to manipulate the misaligned vertebra back toward the normal position. Therefore, this permits restoration of the normal nerve supply and function. Next, once the nerve supply returns to normal, the body can then go to work to heal itself.

Does Chiropractic hurt?

Typical chiropractic adjustments do not hurt. The patient may experience a minor amount of discomfort during the adjustment which lasts only seconds. As a result, this is in an effort to correct misalignments and / or “fixations” in the spine that are causing pain or other symptoms and may have been present for years. Similarly, any discomfort you may have following your first few adjustments can be compared to the soreness you have after a hard workout at the gym. In reality, it feels a lot like when you crack or pop your knuckles.

What Kind of People Go To A Chiropractor?

It’s estimated that thirty million Americans went to a chiropractor last year for a variety of reasons. As a result, some people go because they have already experienced the healing benefits of chiropractic treatment for themselves.

Many people try chiropractic care because they are tired of pain, sickness, fatigue, drugs, side effects, surgery, and poor results. As a result, that’s why they have decided to try the drug-less, natural healing methods offered by chiropractors.

Some people try chiropractic care as a last resort before surgery, or because they are worried about the dangers of drug allergies and reactions. On the other hand, others seek chiropractic care because they’ve been told, “nothing can be done”, or “it’s just your nerves”. Some people have been told that it’s because of their age, or “I’m sorry you’ll just have to learn to live with it.” As a result, they have decided to try chiropractic rather than give up hope for good health.

Many professional NFL and NHL teams require their players to see chiropractors to remain at the top of their games. I have treated payers from the NFL, NHL, as well as professional body builders, martial artists, and marathon runners.

Is chiropractic treatment appropriate for children?

Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Also, injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. Above all, it is a highly skilled treatment, and in the case of children, very gentle.

My youngest patient was only 2 weeks old. If you want to make someone very happy, have them bring their colicky child and watch the colic disappear.

Do insurance plans cover chiropractic?

The majority of all insured American workers have coverage for chiropractic services in their health care plans. For example, Auto Accidents & Work related Injuries are covered 100%.

Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?

Adjustment in a joint may result in release of a gas bubble between the joints that makes a popping sound. This is exactly the same as when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint that results in gas bubbles being released. Fortunately, there is no pain involved. Bones are not breaking or banging into each other.
